NatWest Digital X is seeking an Associate Software Engineer based in Bangalore to build secure, robust, and customer-centric financial platforms. In this role, you will work within an agile feature team across the entire software development life cycle—engineering modern, high-performance applications while leveraging cutting-edge cloud-native patterns and AI capabilities like RAG, intelligent agents, and automated CI/CD workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Development: Design, code, test, deploy, and maintain resilient, scalable software solutions across the full product life cycle.
  • Architecture & Delivery: Rapidly build and optimize critical business software, scripts, and microservices adhering to cloud-native architectural patterns.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with feature teams, technical architects, and business analysts to streamline software delivery and engineering capabilities.
  • AI & Innovation Integration: Implement modern AI-driven engineering practices, agentic workflows, and API integrations into platform features.
  • Quality & Operations: Drive continuous improvement via automated testing, containerized deployments, robust observability, and platform decommissioning when necessary.

Tools/Technologies Used:

  • Core & Backend: Java, J2EE, RESTful APIs, Distributed Systems, Microservices Architecture
  • AI & Modern Paradigms: Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI Agent Architectures, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Cloud & DevOps: Cloud Engineering platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), CI/CD toolchains, Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
