Engineer Real-Time Embedded Systems, Linux Kernels, Wireless Modems, and Multimedia Stacks for Next-Gen Mobile Chipsets
Join Qualcomm as an Associate Software Engineer (2027 Campus Hire) across key R&D hubs in India to build low-level software powering global mobile, IoT, automotive, and wireless chipsets. In this role, you will design and develop real-time embedded software, board support packages (BSPs), and hardware device drivers on Linux, Android, and Windows platforms. You will work on cutting-edge domain areas including 4G/5G and Wi-Fi wireless protocols, multimedia processing (audio, video, camera), and real-time operating system internals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop real-time embedded software, device drivers, and Board Support Packages (BSPs) for Qualcomm mobile and IoT chipsets.
- Implement low-level Linux/Android kernel modules, system services, and hardware abstraction layers.
- Design and maintain wireless communication protocol stacks (TCP/IP, SIP, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
- Develop firmware and software stacks for multimedia capabilities, including audio/video codecs, computer vision, and image processing.
- Perform low-level system debugging, memory optimization, and performance tuning on multi-core embedded architectures.
Tools/Technologies Used:
- Languages & Paradigms: C, C++, Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
- Operating Systems & Kernel: Linux, Android, Windows Mobile, Linux Kernel Development, RTOS, Board Support Packages (BSP)
- Wireless & Networking Protocols: LTE/4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, TCP/UDP/IP, SIP, RTP
- Domain Technologies: Audio/Video Codecs, Image Processing, IoT Systems, Connected Camera Frameworks
- Development Tools: Hardware Debuggers (JTAG/Trace32), Git, Code Review & Build Tools, System Performance Profilers
